A pair of Black-necked Storks have previously been recorded at the nearby Central Coast Wetlands in 2013 on a few of occasions before it was opened to the public.

Black-necked Stork fighting with an eel who won on the day. The next day the Black-necked Stork was witnessed successfully catching and eating an eel.
